Mobile-Friendly Website Checklist
Most of your visitors use phones. Go through these 25 checks on your own phone to make sure your site is easy to read, tap and use. Your progress is saved in your browser.
How to use the mobile checklist
- Open your website on your phone, ideally a mid-range Android.
- Turn off Wi-Fi to test on mobile data.
- Go through each check on your most important pages: home, services and contact.
- Tick what passes and list the rest for your developer.
Why mobile matters so much
Google uses the mobile version of your site for indexing and ranking, known as mobile-first indexing. In India, most people browse and search on phones, so a site that is hard to use on mobile loses both rankings and enquiries. Google retired its standalone Mobile-Friendly Test, so checking by hand and with PageSpeed Insights is now the practical approach.
Common mobile problems on page builders
| Problem | Fix |
|---|---|
| Huge headings that wrap badly | Set smaller mobile font sizes |
| Wide sections cause sideways scroll | Check negative margins and fixed widths |
| Hidden content on mobile | Keep important content visible |
| Heavy sliders | Replace with one static hero |
Check speed with the Core Web Vitals checker, test layouts with the responsive design checker, and add a WhatsApp button with the WhatsApp link generator.
