Thumbnail text ideas
YouTube allows 100 characters, but mobile often shows only the first 60 or so. Put the main idea first.
How to use the YouTube title generator
- Type your topic, such as “SEO”, “Instagram Reels” or “home baking”.
- Choose the video type. A tutorial, a list video and a review each need a different kind of title.
- Pick your audience and language. Hinglish titles work well for channels that speak to Hindi-speaking viewers.
- Copy a title you like and adjust it so it matches exactly what the video delivers.
- Grab a thumbnail text idea too. The thumbnail and title should work together, not repeat each other.
What makes a good YouTube title?
A good title tells viewers what they will get and why it is worth their time. It should include the words people search for, especially for tutorials and explainers, and it should make people curious without misleading them.
YouTube allows titles of up to 100 characters, but search results and the home feed on phones often show only the first 60 or so. Put the main topic and the promise at the start.
Title styles that work
| Style | Example | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| How to | How to Learn SEO Step by Step | Search traffic and tutorials |
| Numbered list | 7 Instagram Mistakes Beginners Make | Tips and quick wins |
| Question | Is Digital Marketing Worth Learning in 2026? | Explainers and opinion videos |
| Comparison | SEO vs Google Ads: Which Is Better? | People deciding between options |
| Hinglish | SEO Kaise Sikhe? Step by Step | Hindi-speaking audiences |
Titles and thumbnails work together
Viewers see the thumbnail and title together, so they should add to each other. If the title says “How to Learn SEO Step by Step”, the thumbnail can say “START HERE” instead of repeating the title. Keep thumbnail text to two to four large words that can be read on a small phone screen.
Avoid clickbait that backfires
- Do not promise results the video does not show, such as income claims.
- Do not use a title that has nothing to do with the content. Viewers leave quickly, and YouTube notices.
- Avoid writing the whole title in capital letters.
- Test two or three titles over time and keep the one that brings the most views from impressions.
