How to use the meta robots generator
- Choose indexing and link options. Most pages should be index, follow.
- Add snippet controls only if you need them.
- Copy the meta tag into the page head, or use the X-Robots-Tag header for PDFs and other files.
- In WordPress with Rank Math, use the Advanced tab of each page instead of adding code.

noindex vs robots.txt
robots.txt stops crawling, while noindex stops indexing. If you block a page in robots.txt, Google cannot read its noindex tag, and the URL may still appear in results without a description. To remove a page from search, allow crawling and use noindex. Build your robots.txt with the robots.txt generator.
