How to pick a random winner
- Paste your entries, one per line. You can paste names, Instagram usernames or comment text.
- Keep “Remove duplicate entries” on so people who entered twice do not get extra chances, unless your rules allow it.
- Choose how many winners and backup winners you need.
- Press Pick winners and copy the result with the date and time.
Is it fair?
The picker uses your browser’s secure random number generator where available, the same kind used for security tasks, so every entry has an equal chance. Each winner is removed from the pool before the next draw, so nobody wins twice in the same draw.
Tips for running a fair giveaway
| Step | Why |
|---|---|
| Publish clear rules and an end date | People know how to enter and when winners are picked |
| Remove duplicate and fake entries | Keeps the draw fair for everyone |
| Record your screen while drawing | Lets you show the draw was random if anyone asks |
| Pick backup winners | Saves time if a winner does not reply |
| Follow platform rules | Instagram and Facebook have promotion guidelines you must follow |
Other uses
Teachers use it to pick students for questions or split classes into groups, and teams use it to choose who presents first. For random order instead of winners, try the shuffle option in our text sorter.
