Free Ad Frequency and Reach Calculator
Find out how many times the average person sees your ad, or plan the budget you need to reach a local audience a set number of times. Built for Meta, YouTube and display campaigns. This free ad frequency calculator runs in your browser, with no sign-up.
How to use the ad frequency calculator
- Choose “Check frequency” and enter impressions and reach from Meta Ads Manager or YouTube.
- Or choose “Plan reach” to see the budget needed to show your ad to an audience a set number of times.
- Read the result and the note on whether frequency is low, healthy or high.
What is ad frequency?
Frequency = impressions / reach. If your ad was shown 1,80,000 times to 60,000 people, each person saw it 3 times on average. People often need to see an ad several times before they act, but seeing the same ad too often can make them ignore it or feel annoyed.
How much frequency is right?
| Goal | Typical approach |
|---|---|
| Brand awareness in your city | Several views a week over a longer period |
| Lead generation | Moderate frequency, watching cost per lead closely |
| Retargeting website visitors | Higher frequency is normal, but refresh creatives often |
| Event or offer with a deadline | Higher frequency in the last days before the date |
There is no single magic number. Watch your results: when CTR falls and cost per result rises as frequency climbs, it is time for a new creative.
Local audiences fill up fast
Targeting a small area, such as a few sectors of Faridabad, means a small audience, so frequency rises quickly. Rotate two or three creatives and keep messages fresh. Plan your full spend with the ad budget calculator and check costs with the CPM, CPC and CTR calculator.

Is this frequency calculator free?
Yes. It is free with no sign-up, and your numbers stay in your browser.
How is frequency calculated?
Divide impressions by reach. The result is how many times the average person saw your ad.
What is a good frequency for Facebook ads?
It depends on the goal and audience size. Watch CTR and cost per result. When they get worse as frequency rises, refresh the ad or widen the audience.
Why is my reach lower than my audience size?
Not everyone in an audience logs in during your campaign, and budget limits how many people the platform can show the ad to.
