Keyword Cannibalization Checker
Find out when two or more of your pages compete for the same search. Paste query and page data from Search Console, or your own keyword map, and see which pages to merge, redirect or refocus.
How to get query and page data
- Easiest: in Google Sheets, use the free Search Analytics for Sheets add-on and pull Query and Page dimensions together.
- Or: build a Looker Studio table from Search Console with Query and Landing Page.
- Copy the table with its header row and paste it here.
- No Search Console data yet? Switch to Keyword map and list each page with its target keyword.
What is keyword cannibalization?
Cannibalization happens when several pages on your site target the same search intent. Google may switch between them or rank neither well, and your links and clicks get split. It is common on sites with many similar blog posts or location pages.
How to fix it
| Situation | Fix |
|---|---|
| Two pages say the same thing | Merge into the stronger one and 301 redirect the other |
| Pages serve different intents | Make each page's focus clearer in title, H1 and content |
| Blog post outranks the service page | Link from the post to the service page with clear anchor text |
| Thin duplicate pages | Noindex or remove them |
Set up redirects with the htaccess redirect generator, plan anchors with the anchor text planner, and organise topics with the topic cluster planner.

Is this cannibalization checker free?
Yes. It is free with no sign-up, and your data stays in your browser.
Is it bad if two pages rank for one query?
Not always. It is a problem when both pages target the same intent and neither ranks well.
Can I get query and page data from the Search Console export?
The standard export shows them separately. Use the Search Analytics for Sheets add-on or Looker Studio to get both together.
Should I delete one of the pages?
Usually merge and redirect instead, so you keep any links and traffic the weaker page has.
