Free Marketing ROI Calculator
Find out whether your marketing is really making money. Check the ROI and ROAS of a past campaign, or plan a new one from budget, clicks and conversion rate to see the leads, sales and profit it could bring.
How to use the ROI calculator
- Choose a mode. “Check a campaign” works out the ROI of something you already ran. “Plan a campaign” estimates what a new budget could bring.
- Enter your costs. Include ad spend plus agency fees, designers, tools and anything else the campaign needed.
- Enter revenue, or in plan mode enter your cost per click, conversion rates and average sale value.
- Set your profit margin, the share of each sale left after the cost of the product or service.
- Read the results. The tool shows ROI, ROAS, net profit and the break-even ROAS you need.
ROI vs ROAS: what is the difference?
| Metric | Formula | Tells you |
|---|---|---|
| ROAS | Revenue / ad cost | How much revenue each rupee of ads brings |
| ROI | (Gross profit - marketing cost) / marketing cost x 100 | Whether the campaign actually made money |
| Break-even ROAS | 1 / profit margin | The minimum ROAS you need to not lose money |
A ROAS of 4x sounds great, but if your margin is only 20%, you need 5x just to break even. That is why this calculator uses profit, not only revenue.
Example: a coaching institute in Faridabad
Say an institute spends ₹30,000 on Google Ads at ₹15 per click. That buys 2,000 clicks. If 5% fill the enquiry form, that is 100 leads, and if 10% of leads join, that is 10 students. At ₹20,000 per course, revenue is ₹2,00,000. With a 40% margin and ₹5,000 of other costs, gross profit is ₹80,000 and net profit is ₹45,000, an ROI of about 129%.
These numbers are illustrative. Your own cost per click and conversion rates will differ, so test with a small budget first. Our ad budget calculator and cost per lead calculator help you plan the details.
How to improve marketing ROI
- Raise conversion rate with a faster, clearer landing page and a simple form or WhatsApp button.
- Follow up leads quickly. A lead called within minutes is far more likely to buy than one called the next day.
- Increase average sale value with bundles, upgrades or longer plans.
- Cut wasted spend with negative keywords, tighter locations and better audiences.
- Track everything. Tag every campaign link with the UTM link builder so you know which channel brought each sale.

Is this ROI calculator free?
Yes. It is free with no sign-up, and your numbers stay in your browser.
How do you calculate marketing ROI?
Take the gross profit from the campaign, subtract the total marketing cost, divide by the marketing cost and multiply by 100. This tool does it automatically using your profit margin.
What is a good marketing ROI?
Any positive ROI means the campaign made money after costs. Many businesses aim for at least 100%, meaning every rupee spent returns two rupees of gross profit, but it depends on your industry and goals.
What is a good ROAS?
A good ROAS is one above your break-even ROAS, which is 1 divided by your profit margin. With a 40% margin you need at least 2.5x to break even.
Should I include agency fees in the cost?
Yes. Include ad spend, agency or freelancer fees, design costs and tools. Leaving them out makes ROI look better than it really is.
Does ROI include customer lifetime value?
This calculator uses the value of the first sale. If customers buy again, enter the average value of a customer over time for a fuller picture.
