How to use this SERP preview tool
- Paste your page URL. The tool turns it into the breadcrumb Google shows under your site name.
- Write your SEO title. Watch the pixel ruler. If the purple bar crosses the red line, Google will cut your title with “…”.
- Write your meta description. Aim for 120 to 160 characters with one clear reason to click.
- Add your focus keyword and brand. The preview bolds matching words, just like Google does for a search.
- Switch between Desktop and Mobile, fix every orange or red point, then copy your title, description or the ready HTML tags.

What is a SERP snippet?
SERP means search engine results page. Each result on that page is a snippet made of three parts: your site name and URL, a blue clickable title, and a short grey description. Most of the time the title comes from your <title> tag and the description comes from your meta description tag.
Your snippet is the first impression a searcher gets of your page. Two pages can rank side by side, and the one with the clearer, more relevant snippet usually gets the click. That is why testing your snippet before publishing is one of the quickest wins in on-page SEO.
SEO title best practices
| Rule | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Stay under about 600 px (50 to 60 characters) | Longer titles get cut, and the cut part is often your brand or offer. |
| Put the main keyword near the start | People scan the first few words, and it shows the page matches their search. |
| Write one unique title per page | Duplicate titles confuse both Google and searchers. |
| Add your brand at the end | It builds recognition without pushing the keyword out of view. |
| Write for people, not for bots | ALL CAPS and repeated keywords look spammy and Google may rewrite them. |
A simple pattern that works for most pages is Primary keyword + benefit or detail | Brand. For example: SEO Course in Faridabad with Live Projects | AdifySkills. If you are not sure which keyword to use, start with our keyword research guide.
Meta description best practices
- Keep it to 120 to 160 characters. Mobile often shows less, so put the key point in the first 100 characters.
- Match the search intent. If people want a price, a location or a how-to, say that clearly.
- Use the keyword once, naturally. Google bolds words that match the search, which draws the eye.
- End with an action. Words like book, compare, learn or download tell people what they get by clicking.
- Make it true to the page. A description that over-promises gets clicks but also gets people leaving straight away.
Pixels vs characters: why width matters
Google does not cut titles at a fixed number of characters. It cuts them when they run out of space, and that space is measured in pixels. A capital W is about three times wider than a lowercase i, so a 55-character title full of wide letters can be cut while a 62-character title with narrow letters fits.
This tool measures the real width of your text using the same font and size Google uses for titles (20px Arial on desktop), so you see the cut before Google makes it. Treat 600 px as a safe target rather than an exact rule, because Google adjusts its layout from time to time.
Good vs weak snippets: local business examples
| Business | Weak title | Better title |
|---|---|---|
| Dental clinic | Home | Welcome to Our Clinic | Dental Clinic in Sector 81, Faridabad | Same-Day Checkups |
| Coaching centre | BEST COACHING BEST COACHING FARIDABAD | Class 12 Coaching in Faridabad | Small Batches, Weekly Tests |
| Interior designer | Interior Designer, Interior Design, Interiors Delhi NCR | Interior Designer in Delhi NCR | Modular Kitchens and Homes |
| Bakery | Untitled Page | Custom Birthday Cakes in Faridabad | Order Online |
These are illustrative examples, not real businesses. Notice the pattern: the better titles name the service and the area, add one useful detail, and avoid repeating words. If you run a local business, our guide to schema markup shows how to add even more detail to your search results.
Why Google rewrites titles and descriptions
Google may show a different title or description from the one you wrote. It usually happens when:
- The tag is missing, empty or the same across many pages.
- The title is far too long or packed with keywords.
- The tag does not match what the page is really about.
- Another line on the page answers the specific search better.
You cannot fully control rewrites, but clear and accurate tags make them much less likely. To check what Google actually shows and how often people click, look at the queries report in Google Search Console.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Leaving the default “Home” or “Untitled” title on a page.
- Copying the same description on every page of the site.
- Writing a title that promises something the page does not deliver.
- Forgetting mobile: a description that fits desktop can still be cut on a phone.
- Ignoring AI search. With Google AI Mode and AI Overviews, a clear page that answers the question directly matters even more.

Is this SERP preview tool free?
Yes. The tool is free with no sign-up and no limit on how many titles you test. Your text stays in your own browser and is not sent to our server.
What is the ideal SEO title length?
Keep the title under about 600 pixels, which is usually 50 to 60 characters. Google measures width in pixels, so a title with wide letters like W and M gets cut sooner than one with narrow letters.
What is the ideal meta description length?
Aim for 120 to 160 characters. Desktop shows roughly 920 to 1030 pixels of description, and mobile often shows less, so put the most important words first.
Why does Google show a different title or description from mine?
Google rewrites snippets when it thinks another line on the page matches the search better, or when your tag is missing, too long, stuffed with keywords or does not match the page. A clear, accurate tag reduces the chance of a rewrite.
Does the meta description affect rankings?
Not directly. Google has said the meta description is not a ranking factor. It does affect click-through rate, because a clear description with the searched words in bold gives people a reason to choose your result.
How accurate is this preview?
It uses the same font sizes Google uses (20px Arial titles on desktop and 14px descriptions) and measures real pixel width in your browser, so it is a close estimate. Google changes its layout from time to time, so treat the limits as a safe target, not an exact rule.
Can I use this for WordPress, Rank Math or Yoast?
Yes. Write and test your title and description here, then copy them into the SEO title and meta description fields of Rank Math, Yoast or any other SEO plugin.
