Email Campaign Checklist Before You Hit Send
Run through every check before sending an email campaign: list, subject line, content, links, design, compliance and tracking. Tick items as you go and your progress is saved.
How to use the email campaign checklist
- Open the checklist while you prepare a campaign.
- Tick each item as you check it. Your progress is saved in this browser.
- Copy it as text to share with a teammate, or print it.
- Reset it for the next campaign.
Why use a checklist?
Once an email is sent, it cannot be taken back. A broken link, a wrong price or a missing unsubscribe link reaches every subscriber at once. A short checklist takes five minutes and prevents the mistakes that cost the most, especially when you send campaigns often.
The checks that matter most
| Check | Why |
|---|---|
| Opted-in list | Protects delivery and is required by inbox rules |
| Authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC) | Gmail and Yahoo require it for bulk senders |
| Working unsubscribe | Required, and reduces spam complaints |
| Tested links | Broken links waste the whole campaign |
| Mobile test | Most emails are read on phones |
Tools that help
Check the subject with the email subject line tester, scan the copy with the spam word checker, tag links with the UTM link builder and review results with the email metrics calculator.
